Riverview Rams @ Sarasota Sailors

The Riverview Rams Varsity Boys (2-1) traveled across town to play the Sarasota Sailors (0-3) in a non-district matchup on Tuesday night. Facing adversity with numerous key players out due to injuries, the Rams would have their hands full against the Sailors. Trailing by a goal for most of the game, the Rams were able to tie the game with 1:35 remaining in the 4th quarter on a goal by sophomore Jack Yochim. With only 5 seconds remaining in regulation, senior attacker Billy Snyder scored the game winner for the Rams, securing the 9-8 win.

Riverview’s scoring was led by Yochim with 5 goals and 1 assist. Senior Solano Benitez scored 2 goals and 1 assist, to go along with his 10 groundballs. Senior goaltender Will Lefler had a strong night between the pipes, recording 12 saves for the Rams.

Sarasota’s scoring was led by senior Kellen Rector with 3 goals and 2 assists and junior Cooper Oriol with 2 goals and an assist.

Riverview Rams @ Sarasota Sailors

The Riverview Rams Varsity Girls opened their 2023 season with a road win against the Sarasota Sailors, 16-6. The Rams waisted little time finding the back of the net, scoring 11 straight goals, and went into halftime with an 11-1 lead. The Rams scoring was tempered in the 2nd half, but the Rams cruised to their first victory with 7 different players contributing to the scoring.

Riverview’s scoring was lead by Junior midfielder, Susan Lowther with 6 goals and 4 assists. Senior Katie Hazlett had a 4-point night with 3 goals and 1 assist. Caroline Steinwachs and Clementine Schwartz had 2 goals, apiece, as well. The Rams were very successful at the draw circle, winning 78% of the draws, lead by Lowther’s 10-for-15 at the draw.

Sarasota’s scoring was lead by Ava Kozicky with 4 goals and 1 assist.

The Rams will host the IMG Ascenders at the Ram Bowl on Wednesday evening.

Riverview Rams @ Sarasota Sailors

The Riverview Rams scored early and often against the Sarasota Sailors (1-8) Monday evening and were able to even up their season record to 4-4-1, with a 17-3 victory.  Sarasota is one of the newer lacrosse programs in the area, so it was a challenge throughout the game for them to keep up with Rams.  In total, nine different Rams were able to find the back of the net, with Susan Lowther leading all scorers with 4 goals.  Alexis Whitmore had 3 goals, and Clara Keyvani, Riley Spingler and Amelia Malkin had 2 goals, apiece.  Mia Rey had 10 saves in goal.  The Rams dominated at the draw circle, winning 18 out of the 21 draws.
