Playing their third game in less than 24 hours, the Riverview Rams Varsity Girls (7-3) played their second game of the day at the IMG Sports Complex against the Gulf Breeze Dolphins (6-4) from Pensacola. The Rams shook off their earlier 19-6 defeat against the undefeated IMG Ascenders (5-0) and quickly jumped out to a 9-5 halftime lead over the Dolphins, with 6 different Rams finding the back of the net. Early in the 2nd half, Gulf Breeze would trim the Rams’ lead to 9-7, but goals by Riverview’s Madelyn Diago and Chloe Hackl would push the Rams back up by four goals. With just over 15 minutes remaining in the 2nd half, and Riverview holding a 13-10 lead, inclement weather moved in and the officials called the game, giving the victory to the Rams.
Riverview’s scoring was lead by sophomore Susan Lowther with 8 points (3G/5A), Caroline Steinwachs 4 points (1G/3A), Chloe Hackl 3 points (3G) and Clara Keyvani 3 points (2G/1A).
It was a historical game for Riverview sophomore Susan Lowther, as her 8-point game puts her at 107 career points for the Rams, and in 2nd place on Riverview’s “All-time Career Points,” just 41 points behind the Rams’ all-time leader, Ronnie McCurdy (148). Congratulations Susan!
