Riverview Rams @ Plant Panthers

The Riverview Rams Varsity Girls (2-1, 1-0) traveled to Tampa for a non-district matchup against the HB Plant Panthers (3-0). The Panthers jumped out to a commanding 11-1 lead after the first two quarters and cruised to an easy 18-5 victory.

Junior Mckenzey Craig and Senior Maddie Miller each had 4 goals, and Junior Olivia Gray had 3 goals for Plant. Senior Susan Lowther lead Riverview with 3 goals.



As the #8 seed, the Riverview Rams (10-9) Varsity Boys traveled to Tampa to face the #1 seed, HB Plant Panthers (16-2) in the FHSAA Division 2A, Region 3 Quarterfinals.

Coming into the game, Plant was riding a 9-game winning streak, averaging nearly 18 goals per game over that span. By the end of the first half, the Panthers were on pace to extend that average when they went up on the Rams 10-1. Plant spread the ball around well, allowing seven different Panthers to contributed to the first half barrage, with Junior Turner Ashby picking up 3 goals and 2 assists.

With a running clock started in the 3rd quarter, the Panthers were able to extend their lead, and cruised to a 16-6 victory, and will move on to face the Gulf Coast Sharks in the FHSAA Region 3 Semi-Finals. Nine different Panthers found the back of the net, with Juniors Eastin Willett and Ashby each having 3 goals.

Riverview’s scoring was lead by Senior Ken Kaiser with 4 points (3G/1A). Senior Kevin Southerland had 2 goals and Sophomore JC Fleming had 2 assists. Senior defender George Benitez had 5 groundballs and 2 takeaways on defense. Between the pipes, Riverview’s Junior goalie Will Leffler was able to stop 17 of Plant’s 33 shots on goal.

Riverview will graduate 13 Seniors from the 2022 team, and we are proud of each and everyone of them, we wish them the very, best.


Riverview Rams @ HB Plant Panthers

The Rams were back on the road this week as they traveled to Tampa for a non-conference game to face the 2-0, HB Plant Panthers.  The Panthers were coming off a big win against the Lakewood Ranch Mustangs (17-7). In last year’s matchup, the Panthers defeated the Rams, 10-8.   The Rams defense held the Panthers scoreless through 3 quarters and were able to secure a tough, 3-2 win.  Riverview’s goals were provided by Kenneth Kaiser, Saxton Dunlap and Sam Lehrman. Will Evans had a strong night with 6 groundballs and 2 takeaways. Justin Clark secured 4 groundballs. Josh Streitmatter, Matt Garcia and Kevin Sutherland had 3 groundballs apiece. Wyatt Kaighin had 14 saves in net.
