FHSAA LACROSSE – STATE CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES (ROUND 1 – REGION 3)

Ft. Myers, FL – The Rams made the road trip to Ft. Myers to take on the Canterbury Cougars for the first round of the FHSAA Lacrosse State Championship Series.  These two teams played each other earlier in the season, with the Rams narrowly defeating the Cougars, 9-8, in the Ram Bowl.  After one half of lacrosse, with the scored tied 1-1, it was apparent both of these teams were ready for another close battle.  Each time the Rams put a string of a couple goals on the board, the Cougars would answer back with a flurry of their own.  It wasn’t until later in the fourth quarter the Rams were able to put three scores in-a-row, including an empty net score by senior Jesse Clark, which enabled the Rams to secure the 9-6 victory.  Riverview will now move on to play the Barron Collier Cougars (currently ranked #5 by LaxPower) in the “Round 2 – Sweet 16” of the FHSAA State Championship Series on Tuesday night at 7:30 P.M. in the Ram Bowl.
