Riverview Rams @ Berkeley Prep Buccaneers

The Riverview Rams (7-4, 3-0) Varsity Girls lacrosse team traveled to Tampa on Tuesday to take on the Berkeley Prep Buccaneers (6-4, 3-0) in a non-district matchup during Spring Break week. The Rams jumped out to an early 6-4 lead in the first half, with junior Susan Lowther scoring 5 of Riverview’s 6 goals, and assisting on the other goal by sophomore Chloe Hackl. By the time the final horn would sound, Lowther would finish with a total of 12 points, a new, single-game Riverview record for points. Hackl scored a career-best, 5 goals, as well for the Rams, to go along with her 3 draw controls and 3 groundballs. Sophomore Caroline Steinwachs had 8 draw control wins for the Rams.

Berkeley’s freshmen draw specialist, Luca Mastrandrea scored 5 goals.

Playing their second of four games on the road, the Riverview Rams Varsity Boys (7-2) extended their winning streak to four games with an 11-9 victory, in a non-district matchup, against the Berkeley Prep Buccaneers (4-6) in Tampa.  The teams played to a 6–6 tie in the first half, but it was the Rams’ tenacious defense in the 2nd half that secured the win for Riverview, holding the Bucs to only 3 goals.

Senior Kevin Southerland led all Ram scorers with 5 points (4G/1A). Will Leffler had 11 saves in goal.

Berkeley’s Seniors Reid Mazzuco (5G) and Jack Tyler Bono (3G/2A) were the leading scorers for the Bucs.

The Riverview Rams Varsity Girls (6-2) team made the trip north to take on the Berkeley Prep Buccaneers (5-3) in a non-district game. The first half was a definite battle between the two teams, especially at the end of the half, as the teams scored 3 goals in the last 38 seconds, with the Buccaneers Ava Mitchell picking up the go-ahead-goal with only 8 seconds remaining in the half.  A strong, and well-balanced second half enabled Berkeley Prep to extend their lead, securing the 13-10 victory.  Riverview’s Chloe Hackl, Emily Hazlett, Caroline Steinwachs, and Susan Lowther each had 2 goals for the Rams. The Buccaneers’ scoring was led by Senior Ashley Quinn with 4 goals.

Mia Rey had 11 saves for the Rams.

Our Riverview Rams Varsity Boys with another huge road win, 13-10 over Berkeley Prep.
🥍 Top Rams: Peter Giannone 5G/1A, Dusty Hibbs 2G/1A, Blake Quigley 2G, Ethan Schwab 1G/2A. Rams 21-for-26 at Faceoff (Nate Hines 13/15, 7GBs and Ray Leffler 8/11 and 10GBs). Kai Hudson 1G and 6GBs. Jake Day also had 5 takeaways and snagged 10 groundballs and set the new Ram Career Groundball Record with 128. Leffler and Day’s ten groundballs ties the single game Ram record, as well. Congratulations to the entire team on a great win.

The Rams final regular season game will be this Friday night in the Ram Bowl, when they take on HB Plant.

Tampa, FL – The Rams faced a tough Berkeley opponent on the road and were never able to sustain the momentum to overcome a 10-4 deficit at halftime, going on to lose 16-9.
