“Battle of the Bay” was the title that was being shouted all week, and it certainly lived up to the hype. With neither team ever taking more than a 2-goal advantage throughout the game, it was the Cardinal Mooney Cougars’ Christian Laureano who scored the game-winning goal with :29 seconds remaining in the 4th quarter to edge out the Rams (Laureano led all scorers with 5 goals). Senior Will Evans had 4 goals (along with 7 groundballs) for the Rams and Junior Ken Kaiser had 3 goals. Defensively, Josh Streitmatter (6GBs/6TAs) and Aiden Vilardi (2GBs/5TAs) were effective in getting the ball back to the Ram offense from start to finish. Tyler Horiuchi was 10-for-16 on faceoffs and had 10 groundballs. Chris Johnson had 12 saves in goal.
Record Watch: Congratulations to Senior Kai Hudson, who’s 3 takeaways (69) earned him the title of “All-Time Takeaway Leader” for the Rams, a record previously held by 2019 graduate, Jake Day (67).
