FHSAA D2 DISTRICT 12 CHAMPIONS!
The Riverview Rams (10-9) defeated the Lakewood Ranch Mustangs (13-6) by a score of 15-6, to win the 2025 FHSAA, Division 2, District 12 Championship at the Ram Bowl. The Rams jumped out to an early 10-2 lead in the first half, and cruised to a 15-6 win behind a 7-goal night for Senior midfielder, Caroline Steinwachs and a 7-assist night for sophomore attacker, Maria Berzins. Maria’s 7 assists ties the single-game record for assists for a Ram. All together, nine different Rams contributed to the scoring. This is the second District Championship win for the Varsity Girls program, and second for the Seniors, Meghan Cox, Hailey Domenick and Caroline Steinwachs, who were also part of the 2022 District Championship win over the Manatee Hurricanes.
Lakewood Ranch sophomore attacker, Gigi Canali had 4 goals for the Mustangs.
