The Riverview Rams (12-8) Varsity girls traveled to Naples to take on the Gulf Coast Sharks (13-4) in the FHSAA State Championship Series Regional Quarterfinals.
Gulf Coast’s ability to control the draw 59% of the time (14-for-24) was one of the key differentiators, as the Sharks took an 8-5 lead into halftime, and kept the pressure on Riverview’s defense in the second half, securing the 13-9 victory. Junior Susan Lowther (3G/1A) and senior Emily Hazlett (2G/2A) each had 4 points for the Rams. Sophomore CC Hackl had 2 goals and 4 draw controls.
Gulf Coast attackers Peyton Davidson and Kali Cleary each had 5 goals for the Sharks.
Congratulations to Riverview junior Susan Lowther, who’s 4 points in her final game of the season, put her at 168 total points for the season, which leads the nation at this time (MaxPreps).
