Matt Cassalia


Matt Cassalia is a 2007 graduate of Le Moyne College with a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Leadership and Management Information Systems and a minor in Philosophy, was a two-year starter at midfield for the Dolphins.

A captain his senior year, Cassalia led the Dolphins to back-to-back Division II National Championships and was named a First Team All-American each of his two years with the program. After spending two years at Loyola College (2004 & 2005), Cassalia joined the Dolphins for the 2006 season, when he went on to be named the Lt. Donald McLaughlin Jr. Award recipient as the Division II Midfielder of the Year. Cassalia, who scored twice in the 12-5 win over Dowling in the 2006 championship game, scored 29 goals (4th on the team) and dished out five assists for 34 points (5th on the team) as a junior, while also winning 64.3% of his face-off attempts. En route to the Dolphins winning the 2007 National Championship, Cassalia registered 25 points on 19 goals and six assists, including one goal in the 6-5 title game win over Mercyhurst. Cassalia, who played for the San Francisco Dragons during the 2008 Major League Lacrosse season, was a 2003 graduate of high school lacrosse powerhouse West Genesee, where he was a three-year letterwinner and won two New York State Championships. A High School All-American as a junior and senior, Cassalia won a silver medal in 2001 and a bronze medal in 2002 playing for the Central Region in the Empire State Games.

Natalie Smithers

Junior Varsity Coach – Natalie Smithers

Natalie Smithers works at St Martha Catholic School as a 4th and 6th grade teacher.  She went to Cardinal Mooney High School and graduated from Georgia Southern University with a Bachelor’s in Education.  Natalie has coached the youth in the area in both volleyball and basketball for many years.  She is married to Joshua Smithers who also coaches at Riverview High School as the Head Football Coach.  Natalie has three children who love attending athletic events at Riverview High.  She is very excited to work with the girls JV Lacrosse team. Go Rams!
