The Riverview Rams (3-2) Varsity Girls hosted the Tampa Catholic Crusaders (1-2) at the Ram Bowl for a non-district matchup on Tuesday evening. The Rams jumped out to an early 8-5 lead over the Crusaders in the first half, and then poured it on in the second half with 10 goals, and secured their 3rd win of the season, 18-8. In addition to a strong offense in the 2nd half, the Rams defense locked down the Crusaders, as well. Ram defender, Meghan Cox had two key takeaways that lead to Riverview goals in the 2nd half. In total, Riverview forced 8 turnovers in the game. The Rams were 16-for-28 on draws (57%).
Riverview’s scoring was lead by junior Susan Lowther with 10 points (7G/3A), sophomore Caroline Steinwachs with 4 goals, and senior Katie Hazlett with 3 points (1G/2A). Overall, eight different Rams contributed to the scoring in the game, with Chloe Hackl, Emily Honish, Emily Hazlett, Hailey Domenick and Clementine Schwartz also scoring for the Rams.
Tampa Catholic’s scoring was lead by sophomore Payton Kelly with 4 goals and senior Catalina Frey had 4 points (3G/1A).
