Sitting atop the District 16 standings with an 8-1 overall record, the Sickles Gryphons hosted the Riverview Rams on Saturday. For a moment, we were expecting Casey Powell might show up to sanction the game as a “Beach Lacrosse” event based on the challenging field conditions at Sickle High School.

Nevertheless, the conditions were the same for both teams, and the Rams were able to overcome a 2-point, 4th quarter deficit to force overtime. In the overtime, Senior Clark Flessner battled through the sand for a loose ground ball, made the clear and fed Josh Clark who found Finn Johnson for the game winner. Rams Win!
