The Riverview Rams Varsity Girls opened their season in the Ram Bowl, in a District matchup with the Newsome Wolves. The Wolves jumped out to an early 6-3 halftime lead, but the Rams came out strong in the second half and cut the lead to 7-5 with 13:17 remaining in the game. Strong play by Newsome’s underclassmen, who accounted for eight of the Wolves twelve goals, was the difference in a game that was closer than the final score, 12-6. Sophomore Amelia Malkin led the Rams with two goals.
