Recap
The Canterbury School Cougars made the trip up from Ft. Meyers on Friday night, and came into the Ram Bowl with a 4-0 record. The Rams defense locked down on the Cougars offense, who had been averaging 10 goals per game in their first 4 wins. It was actually the Cougars’ defense that ended up making the game close, as 3 of the 4 goals scored came from the Canterbury D-poles, Jeremy Barrett (2G) and Gavin Knight (1G). The Rams scoring was led by Senior Peter Giannone with 4 goals and Senior Ethan Schwab with 1 goal and 2 assists. In the end, it was the Rams faceoff play (8 for 10) by Jake Lehrman and Ray Leffler and the Rams defense that secured the win. The Rams collected a total of 34 groundballs and 11 takeaways. Senior Jake Day led the team with 8 groundballs and 3 takeaways. Sophomore Kai Hudson had 3 takeaways and 4 groundballs. Junior goal keeper Wyatt Kaighin had 10 saves.
