Canterbury Cougars vs. Riverview Rams

The Riverview Rams (8-4) Varsity Girls hosted the Canterbury Cougars (4-3) at the Ram Bowl for a non-district matchup on Tuesday afternoon. The Rams jumped out to a quick 7-0 lead in the first half with early hat-tricks from Caroline Steinwachs and Susan Lowther before the Cougars were able to get on the board with a goal from senior Lydia LaClair, who would finish the game with four of the Cougars six goals.  By halftime, the Rams would extend their lead to 15-4, with goals from six different players. With a comfortable lead and running clock, Riverview was able to play their substitutes and close the game out with a 21-6 victory.

Riverview’s Lowther finished the game with 7 points (6G/1A), Chloe Hackl picked up 6 points (5G/1A) and Steinwachs had 5 points (4G/1A). The most memorable goal of the game came with 11:19 remaining in the first half, when senior Chloe Hackl found a cutting Chloe Jarman who was able to slip her shot past Canterbury’s goalie, Caroline Lucas for the score. Jarman’s goal was the 1,000 “program goal” for the Riverview Rams.  Congratulations to Chloe and all the other Rams that contributed to this milestone.
