As the #3 seed, the Riverview Rams (12-7) Varsity Girls played in their first Regional Playoff game in program history in the Ram Bowl against the #6 seed, Sickles Gryphons (16-4) in the Division 2A, Region 3 Quarterfinals. The teams were all tied up, 3-3, at halftime, and in the 2nd half, the Gryphons defense clamped down on the Rams, and went on to a 6-5 victory, and advance to the Region 3 semifinals to play the Newsome Wolves.
Riverview’s scoring was lead by Sophomore Susan Lowther with 3 goals. Senior Clara Keyvani and Freshmen Caroline Steinwachs each had a goal.
Sickles scoring was lead by Junior Elana Hangen who had 3 goals and an assist, including the winning goal, with just 1:59 remaining in the game. Freshmen Alexa Desart contributed 2 goals for the Gryphons. Without question, the star of the game was Sickles Freshmen goalie, Emma Zimmerman, who only allowed 5 goals on 19 shots by the Rams.
